Modern Warfare 4 brings a new campaign and rebuilt combat

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 launches on 23 October 2026 with a new cinematic campaign, redesigned weapon handling and an expanded selection of multiplayer modes. Through Colby, the game will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch 2 at a launch price of €79.99.

Infinity Ward is returning to the grounded style associated with Modern Warfare, while rebuilding several systems that determine how movement and gunplay feel. The package includes a single-player campaign, traditional competitive multiplayer and a new version of the extraction-based DMZ experience.

Captain Price faces a new war and a global threat

The campaign begins as North Korea launches a full-scale invasion of South Korea. A young squad of South Korean soldiers fights to survive on the collapsing front line, while Captain Price is operating off the grid and being hunted by former allies and new enemies.

Price joins forces with the Las Almas cartel to pursue a wider threat connected to Archer, the game’s central antagonist. Archer is attempting to gain control of a weapon capable of changing the global balance of power, bringing Price’s personal mission together with the conflict on the Korean Peninsula.

The story moves beyond Korea through operations in New York, Paris and Mumbai. Activision presents the campaign as the conclusion of the current Modern Warfare storyline and a transition toward a new chapter for the series. Familiar characters and unresolved conflicts therefore feed into a campaign designed to close the existing arc rather than begin an unrelated story.

Available through Colby on three platforms

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will be available through Colby for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch 2. The launch price is €79.99, with release scheduled for 23 October 2026.

The Nintendo Switch 2 version has been developed natively for the platform in partnership with Digital Legends. It also marks the return of Call of Duty to Nintendo hardware after more than 13 years and gives Nintendo players access to the full new Modern Warfare release.
